Splendid Aviation ยท Getting started

Your first sign-in, step by step

Your invitation connects you to the account and content your administrator selected.

1. Open your invitation email

Look for Your Splendid Aviation account, program access, and login instructions. Check Spam or Junk if you cannot find it.

  1. Select Set up your account and create your password.
  2. Create a password with at least 14 characters, including an uppercase letter, lowercase letter, number, and symbol. Enter it twice and select Activate account.
  3. Your setup link works once and normally expires in 24 hours. If it expired or was replaced, ask your administrator to email a new setup link.

Keep the private setup link to yourself. Your administrator does not need your password.

2. Sign in to the right Portal

Student sign-in Staff sign-in

  1. Use the email address shown in your invitation.
  2. Enter the password you created.
  3. Select Sign in. If a six-digit code is requested, follow the MFA steps below.

Bookmark the sign-in page for future visits. Your activation link is only for first-time setup.

3. Understand the six-digit code (MFA)

MFA means multi-factor authentication. It adds a code from an authenticator app on your phone after your password. Privileged staff must set it up. Students only need a code if MFA is enabled on their account.

First-time setup

  1. Open an authenticator app on your phone.
  2. Choose Add account or +, then Scan QR code. Scan the private code displayed by the Portal.
  3. If you are using the same phone for everything, choose Enter a setup key instead. Copy the key from the Portal, name the account Splendid Aviation, and choose Time based.
  4. The app displays a six-digit code. Enter it on the Portal and select Enable MFA.

Every later sign-in

  1. Enter your email and password on the Portal.
  2. Open the authenticator app and find Splendid Aviation.
  3. Type its current six-digit code into the Portal. It changes about every 30 seconds; if it expires, use the next one.

The code is not emailed or texted to you. It is different from a course access code. If a valid-looking code keeps failing, set your phone's date and time to automatic and try the next code. If your phone or authenticator is lost, contact the office. Never send anyone your code, QR code, setup key, or password.

4. Program students: open your ground school

  1. Sign in to the Student Portal and choose your assigned program on the dashboard.
  2. Select Open Ground School. Starting here carries your assigned access to the Study Center.
  3. Work through your lessons, complete the checks and quizzes, and look for the saved progress confirmation.
  4. Return to the Student Portal to review your progress for that program. If a result is still syncing, keep the Study Center open and retry its pending synchronization.

If ground school is missing, ask your administrator to check your program and Include online ground school access. Private Pilot and Instrument have online ground-school content. Other assigned programs may use instructor-led or external ground school.
